Listen to Demo of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” with Different Lyrics
And yes, while there are plenty of drug-fueled antics, there’s no doubt the focus is on the music here, as it should be…Iommi emerges from Iron Man seeming like a true trailblazer without sounding immodest or unkind—and I’ve learned that’s quite a feat, especially after reading, say, Motley Crue’s The Dirt. If you only buy one rock biography this season, for so many reasons, it should be this one.
Always the quiet one, the man responsible for shoveling coal into the Sabbath furnace while frontman Ozzy Osbourne played the lovably demented buffoon out front, Iommi is a perhaps surprisingly, given Sabbath’s reputation thoughtful and reflective man whose take on the history of Sabbath is surely the definitive one.

In this Iron Man guitar lesson video series, I will teach you how to Black Sabbath’s metal classic note-for-note. The main riff to Iron Man definitely needs no introduction, but there are also some other mighty fine guitar riffs to sink your teeth into with this one. In the first lesson I will demonstrate how to play every single riff in the song. Nothing is really difficult in the riff video lesson, just a bunch classic metals riffs that every guitar should know.
In the second lesson video I will break down Tony Iommi’s main guitar solo note-for-note. It is here that the difficulty level is taken up quite a few notches. Even though a lot of the licks aren’t very difficult to play, the speed and amount of continual licks coming one after another can make it quite a challenge to get the solo under your fingers at the proper tempo.
I have broken everything down for you though so you shouldn’t have much trouble knowing how to practice it correctly phrase by phrase, until you can put them all together. The last video consists of a note-for-note breakdown of the entire outro section including the solo. This particular solo isn’t nearly as difficult to master as the previous solo. However, it does have quite a few very large bends you will need to contend with.
All-in-all, I would put this Iron Man guitar lesson series at around an intermediate level. As always you shouldn’t need to read any TAB to follow along with these video lessons. If you practice the solo phrases correctly, they should become memorized very quickly.

In , following the break-up of their previous band, guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward set about to form a heavy blues rock band in Aston, Birmingham.
